Fury Warrior PVE Guide – Cataclysm

Welcome to the PVE Fury Warrior Guide for World of Warcraft Cataclysm!

This guide will teach you how to play a Fury Warrior in a raid. It covers talents, glyphs, gems, enchantments, rotation, and gameplay tips.

This talent build takes the standard Fury Warrior talents to maximize single target DPS. If you have a one-handed weapon, go Single-Minded Fury instead of Titan’s Grip.

Prime Glyphs

• Glyph of Bloodthirst
• Glyph of Raging Blow
• Glyph of Slam

Major Glyphs

• Glyph of Cleaving
• Glyph of Colossus Smash
• Glyph of Death Wish

Minor Glyphs

• Glyph of Berserker Rage
• Glyph of Bloody Healing
• Glyph of Furious Sundering

Gems are situational and depend on the build and equipment. They are used to reach the required stat caps.

• Meta – Reverberating Shadowspirit Diamond
• Prismatic/Red – Bold Queen’s Garnet, Bold Inferno Ruby, or Bold Chimera’s Eye (Jewelcrafting)
• Yelow
  • If Socket Bonus is not at least +10 Strength, Bold Queen’s Garnet, Bold Inferno Ruby
  • Otherwise, Inscribed Lava Coral or Inscribed Ember Topaz
• Blue
  • If Socket Bonus is not at least +10 Strength, Bold Queen’s Garnet, Bold Inferno Ruby
  • Otherwise, Etched Shadow Spinel or Etched Demonseye

• Head – Arcanum of the Wildhammer (Alliance) or Arcanum of the Dragonmaw (Horde)
• Shoulder – Greater Inscription of Jagged Stone or Lionsmane Inscription (Inscription)
• Cloak – Enchant Cloak – Greater Critical Strike or Swordguard Embroidery (Tailoring)
• Chest – Enchant Chest – Peerless Stats
• Bracers – Enchant Bracer – Major Strength or Enchant Bracer – Precision (cheaper) or Draconic Embossment – Strength (Leatherworking) with Socket Bracer (Blacksmithing)
• Gloves – Enchant Gloves – Mighty Strength with Synapse Springs (Engineering) or Socket Gloves (Blacksmithing)
• Waist – Grounded Plasma Shield (Engineering) or Ebonsteel Belt Buckle
• Legs – Dragonscale Leg Armor or Dragonbone Leg Reinforcements (Leatherworking)
• Boots – Enchant Boots – Lavawalker
• Weapon – Enchant Weapon – Landslide

• Strength
• Hit Rating (to 8% hit cap)
• Expertise (to 26 cap)
• Critical Strike
• Hit Rating (to the 27% hit cap)
• Mastery for Two-Handed builds/Haste for One-Handed builds
• Haste for Two-Handed builds/Mastery for One-Handed builds

Use Berserker Stance unless you need Battle Stance for Shattering Throw.

Single Target Rotation

• Use Bloodthirst on cooldown
• Use Colossus Smash if you can Bloodthirst, Raging Blow, Bloodthirst in the 6 seconds of armor ignore it gives you
• Use Raging Blow, with Berserker Rage if you aren’t buffed by another enrage
• Use Slam if it can be instant cast via Bloodsurge
• Use Battle Shout or Commanding Shout, unless you have a full rage pool
• Use Heroic Strike if you have 70+ rage or a Battle Trance proc

Single-Minded Fury builds should use Slam as a higher prio than Raging Blow

Multi Target Rotation

• 2 enemies
  • Use normal rotation but use Cleave instead of Heroic Strike
• 3 enemies
  • Use Cleave and Bloodthirst
• 4+ enemies
  • Use Whirlwind, Cleave, and Bloodthirst, as range allows

Cooldowns

• Use Death Wish and Recklessness on cooldown, and together if you like.
• Use Inner Rage if you need to burn rage via Heroic Strike
• Use Retaliation if you are being targeted by enemies
